Dr. Barbara Wells, the Director General of the International Potato Center, Lima, Peru, says receiving Kuwait's Al-Sumait Prize for Food Security is a great honor. The IPC jointly shared the award for its work on developing a biofortified sweet potato, a crop that is is crucial to health, nutrition and development, and is helping to reduce childhood blindness and stunting across Africa.
