Al-Sumait Prize Board of Trustees announced joint winners for the US$1million prestigious award in the 2019 cycle in the field of food security in recognition of their exemplary work in agriculture development in the African continent. The Two winners are The Africa Rice Center (Based in Cote d’ivoire) and Pan Africa Bean Research Alliance (PABRA) (Nairobi).

Daniel Gustafson Deputy Director Genral of the United Nations Food and Agrigulture Organization has been officially invited to join the Al Sumait Prize for African Development Board of Trustees. In addition the Board of Trustees has approved an exstention to the nomination period for this $1million prize to the end of May 2019.
